What is Satellite Broadband?

How does it work?
A satellite 22,000 miles up in space provides the permanent link between your computer and the internet. The satellite dish on your wall receives and transmits the signals and is linked to the modem in your house by cable. The modem provides the link point for your computer and can be wired or wireless.
Is it reliable?
The new generation of satellites launched into space in the past few years have made the service much more reliable than the previous generation of satellites.
